    News/Events Category: FVA News

This is an excellent opportunity for people looking to get involved at a strategic level with a growing local organisation with a wide and challenging remit and track record in continuous improvement and impact.

Fife Voluntary Action (FVA) is a charitable company, limited by guarantee and is the Third Sector Interface for the Fife Council area. We are an independent charity and receive the majority of our funding from Scottish Government and Fife Council to ensure the third sector is robust, resilient and delivers high quality services for the people of Fife. We support, develop and represent community groups, voluntary organisations, social enterprises and volunteering. We employ around 35 staff members covering these activities across Fife, operating from our offices in Glenrothes, Cupar, Leven, Dunfermline and Kirkcaldy and provide a wide range of support to third sector organisations.

FVA is currently seeking to recruit suitably skilled and motivated people to become Directors/Trustees to support the strategic direction of Fife’s third sector interface. The Board currently consists of six people from various sectors and industries who work well as a team and are looking to add to their number.

If you feel that you are passionate about the achievements already evident within Fife’s third sector and would like to support them to continue to develop and flourish, and have a stronger voice through FVA as their champion, then we want to hear from you. Third sector organisations are under increasing pressure and the demands on FVA increase year-on-year.

Applicants should have a commitment to supporting both FVA’s vision and the mission, along with the ability to provide strong direction to ensure the ongoing delivery of sound support and direction and work in partnership with FVA’s Chief Executive to oversee delivery of the operational work plan.

Knowledge of the demands and complexities of board-level governance and trusteeship as well as excellent interpersonal skills are essential.

The Director positions are voluntary, however, out-of-pocket expenses will be met.

If you want to make a difference and can spare a few hours each month then please complete the application form below.

Deadline for submission of applications is Monday 29 August 2016.

Suitable applicants will be invited to attend an informal discussion with the Chair of the Board of Directors and the CEO.
