Receptionists meet and greet relatives and their families, possibly making tea and coffee as required, or in sign posting relatives to other areas within Victoria Hospice Kirkcaldy grounds.

The hospice hosts a large garden with a sensory impairment section, hence volunteers usually help to water the plants, or water the tomatoes in their greenhouse during the patient’s absence.

Hospice receptionists also help to keep leaflet and book stands tidy and change the water in the flower vases within the day hospice area. Within the in-patient unit, volunteers assist to give the patients fresh drinking water both afternoons and evenings.

Place: Victoria Hospice Kirkcaldy (located in the grounds of Victoria Hospital).

    Volunteer Reference No: VO48444.
