    Child Contact Centres play a key role in helping children affected by family breakdown to maintain relationships with the parent they do not live with or other family members.

    The volunteer works with the Organiser and other volunteers to provide a welcoming, friendly atmosphere for the families using the centre by:

    • helping out with difficult ‘handovers’ and complex contact arrangements as advised by the Organiser;
    • being involved with both parents and children in order to make them feel at ease (this does not involve counselling or expressing and opinion);
    • ensuring the availability of suitable play equipment and materials;
    • providing tea and coffee.

    The centres are at The Cottage in Kirkcaldy and the Salvation Army Hall in Glenrothes.
