Organisation: Change Mental Health

Hours: 35 hours per week

Location: Fife (region-wide)

Closing date: 26 October 2026

Change Mental Health is looking for a Mental Health and Wellbeing Practitioner (Outreach) to join their Fife services team. You will play a key role in delivering support as part of an innovative partnership between Change Mental Health and Kingdom Housing Association (KHA).

The role

This is a community-based role supporting adults affected by mental illness to build confidence, resilience and greater independence. You'll work primarily one-to-one with people in their own homes and communities, with opportunities to contribute to their hub-based services where needed.

Please note this role requires travel throughout the Fife region.

You will work closely with KHA staff as part of a collaborative, partnership-based approach, embedding mental health support within housing services. This includes responding to referrals, supporting early intervention and crisis prevention, and contributing to improved outcomes for tenants.

You will be part of a forward-thinking, collaborative team committed to innovation in mental health and housing support.

Working autonomously, you will manage your own caseload, using sound judgment to determine when to escalate or refer to your manager. You will also contribute to identifying service gaps and co-developing solutions to meet the evolving needs of tenants and the wider community.

Key responsibilities:

  • Please note this role is open to females only due to the needs of service users
  • Driving licence and access to a vehicle
  • Experience providing community-based, recovery-focused or non-clinical mental health support
  • Experience delivering structured 1:1 support and contributing to personal or outcome-focused plans
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently, manage your workload effectively and contribute positively to a team
  • Understanding of risk assessment and safe decision-making
  • Commitment to person-centred, strengths-based and recovery-focused practice
  • Educated to SVQ 3 level or have experience working in mental health
  • SSSC registration, or willingness to register within six months

They are committed to exploring flexible working opportunities which benefit the individual and the charity and are a "Happy to Talk Flexible" employer: working days will be discussed and agreed with the Locality Manager and can be adjusted for the suitable candidate.

If you are passionate about enabling Change Mental Health to deliver a valuable service to the Scottish community and feel your profile matches this role's criteria, then they want to hear from you!

Benefits

  • Professional development including funded opportunities.
  • A generous 37 days' holiday.
  • A 35-hour working week, enhanced sick pay & season ticket loan.
  • A great work-life balance with flexible and blended working environment.
  • 24/7 access to an award-winning Employee Assistance Programme providing free legal, financial and medical advice as well as support with life's challenges.
  • Enhanced sick pay and leave entitlements.
  • Paid Mental Wellbeing Days.
  • Cycle to Work Scheme.
  • Blue Light discount card.
