Substances Support Scotland Launch New Outreach Service

Created: 15/10/2026
News/Events Category: Health and Social Care

Substances Support Scotland have launched a new Assertive Outreach and Recovery Service with Fife Alcohol and Drug Partnership (ADP).

In 2025, Fife recorded 60 drug use deaths, down from 69 the previous year - this is the lowest number since 2022 and that progress is welcome.

But the latest available figures also showed the number of deaths caused by alcohol was significantly higher than those caused by drugs.

The new service is building on SSS’s long-standing work in Fife, including its specialist substance use counselling. The organisation is using its first-hand experience to train professionals, volunteers and local communities, helping raise awareness of issues relating to substance use and how best to respond.

How to refer

Professionals can refer clients to the service, and you can also self refer. Click here to access the referral form on their website.
