Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland's New Women's Health Plan

Created: 08/10/2026
News/Events Category: Health and Social Care

Chest, Heart & Stroke Scotland (CHSS) have launched their Women's Health Plan 2026-2029.

Chest, heart, stroke and Long Covid conditions are among the leading causes of death and disability for women in Scotland, yet women continue to face inequalities throughout their health journey – from symptoms being dismissed, misdiagnosed or under-treated, to unequal access to treatment and rehabilitation.

The plan sets out seven aims to improve women-specific health information and awareness, strengthen prevention and early detection, enhance support following diagnosis, amplify women’s voices and campaign for wider change.

The plan has been shaped by lived experience, evidence and expertise, and builds on the work CHSS are already doing to improve women’s health across Scotland.
