Women's Fund for Scotland

Created: 06/10/2026
News/Events Category: Funding and Finance

The Women’s Fund for Scotland (WFS) makes unrestricted grants to projects across Scotland that support women’s development, self-sufficiency and social and economic equality. It makes grants across three key themes:

  1. Thrive – funding the potential of women and girls to thrive – through leadership, skills-building, innovation and creativity.
  2. Heal – funding the spaces and support systems that women need to heal – from violence, from marginalisation and from injustice.
  3. Rise – supporting women rising – together and on their own terms. Rising out of loneliness, of poverty and into a more equal Scotland. This could support movement building or collective work.

The fund supports women’s organisations, especially those run by and for women, community-based organisations running projects with women and girls, and projects supporting disadvantaged women and girls.

Priority will be given to organisations who can demonstrate previous achievements from their work and who have plans for longer term sustainability.

Who can apply?

Properly constituted organisations may apply, including charities, social enterpises and unincorporated organisations.

Organisations with an annual turnover of more than £500,000 are not eligible for funding. If oversubscribed, they will give priority consideration to organisations with an annual turnover not greater than £300,000.

Maximum annual income: £500,000

How to apply

Apply using the online form on the Foundation Scotland website.

Closing date: Friday 30 October 2026
