People with learning disabilities can face additional barriers when accessing health screening programmes. Fife Health & Social Care Partnership want to understand why this happens and what can be done to make screening services more accessible, inclusive and fair.
They are interested in hearing from people with a learning disability, as well as families, carers and staff who support them. They want to learn about people's experiences of screening, what works well, what challenges they face, and what changes could help improve access and participation.
Screening helps identify people who may be at increased risk of certain health conditions before symptoms develop. Early identification can help people access treatment and support when needed.
Your feedback will help them:
- Understand barriers to taking part in screening.
- Identify what support helps people attend appointments.
- Improve information and communication about screening.
- Reduce inequalities and improve access to screening for people with learning disabilities across Fife.
There are no right or wrong answers. They welcome all experiences and views.
Feedback will be used in public presentations and reports, but the information you provide will be anonymised and you will not be identified.
