World Menopause Awareness Month: Support for Your Workplace

Created: 30/09/2026
News/Events Category: Health and Social Care

October is World Menopause Awareness Month and World Menopause Awareness Day (18 October 2026) is the highlight of this campaign.

This year's theme for action is 'Chronic Pain at Midlife' and you can download toolkits to support your workplace event planning and activities.

Menopause has been a topic of interest for Fife's workforce, over a number of years and UK wide, around 8 out of 10 women will experience Menopause symptoms as part of their working lives.

  • Menopause can be protected under the Equality Act 2010 based on Age, Gender, Sex and Disability characteristics.
  • Workplaces can support those who are experiencing menopause symptoms through policy, procedure and stigma reduction.
  • Scottish Government recommend that workplaces offer reasonable adjustments to workers experiencing menopause symptoms.

Health Promotion Service can support your workplace with:

  • Menopause at Work policy
  • Reasonable adjustments
  • Menopause champions at work
  • Menopause action plan
  • Menopause awareness
  • Menopause training

To request support for your organisation, please email [email protected] - all of their advice is free and confidential.
