By the end of this course, participants will:
- Explore the link between poverty, money worries, and health inequalities and build on their understanding of these topics and the overall impact they have on people they meet every day.
- Develop practical skills to have compassionate, non-judgemental conversations about money worries and increase their confidence to do so
- Gain knowledge of local support services, referral pathways, and resources available across Fife
- Be able to challenge stigma and misconceptions around poverty that prevent people from seeking help.
Learner outcomes
By the end of this course participants will:
- Describe key poverty trends in Fife and links to health inequalities.
- Recognise signs of financial hardship and when to respond.
- Use person-centred communication skills to discuss money worries.
- Signpost effectively to relevant local services and resources.
- Challenge stigma and bias in practice.

This course is suitable for anyone who has contact with the public and may encounter people experiencing money worries, including:
- Health and social care staff
- Third sector and community organisations
- Local authority staff (housing, welfare, education)
- Frontline workers, support staff, and volunteers
- Anyone in a role supporting wellbeing or reducing inequalities in Fife
