Youth Action Fife’s 2026/27 funding round is now open, with £15,000 available to support young people and youth-led ideas across Rural Fife.
Whether you’re a young person looking to develop your own skills or ideas, or a group wanting to create new opportunities for young people in your community, we want to hear from you!
Who are Youth Action Fife?
Youth Action Fife (YAF) is Fife’s Youth Local Action Group (YLAG), made up of young people aged 16–30 who live, work or study in Rural Fife.
Their members are volunteers who are passionate about improving opportunities for young people in rural communities. They help identify the issues that matter to rural young people, develop new opportunities and have a real say in deciding where funding should go.
The fund is about giving young people the opportunity to turn their ideas into something real and create a positive impact across Rural Fife.
Funding for individuals
If you’re under 30 with a connection to Rural Fife, you can normally apply for up to £500, with up to £750 available in special circumstances.
Funding could help you:
- Access training or develop new skills
- Support your wellbeing
- Explore a creative idea
- Start or grow a business or enterprise idea
- Develop an idea that could benefit you or your community
Funding for Groups
Groups and organisations supporting young people in Rural Fife can apply for up to £2,000 towards new projects, activities and opportunities.
They’re particularly interested in youth-led ideas, where young people have helped shape the project and have a genuine say in what happens.
Projects could focus on mental health and wellbeing, skills development, nature, community, sustainability, tackling rural barriers, creativity, culture or inclusion.
They’re also interested in ideas that can have a longer-term impact and continue making a difference after the initial funding has been spent.

They want the process to be as accessible as possible, and there are different ways to tell us about your idea. Support is also available if you want to chat through your plans before applying.
The first step is simply to Register Your Interest. We'll check that you and your idea are eligible, and successful applicants at this stage will then be invited to complete a full application.
