Workers Education Association: Introduction to the Digital Office
Created: 17/08/2026People looking for work, returning to employment, or hoping to improve confidence with technology can try out Workers Educational Association Scotland's Introduction to the Digital Office course.
The course runs online via Teams every Tuesday evening from 6 - 8 pm from Tuesday 22 September to 01 December 2026.
This 10-week online course introduces learners to the key Microsoft 365 tools used in many workplaces, including Outlook, Teams, Word, OneDrive and PowerPoint. No previous experience is needed, and participants can work at a pace that suits them. Participants will develop practical digital skills that employers increasingly expect, from managing emails and online meetings to creating documents and working collaboratively online. Optional qualifications are also available for those who wish to gain recognised evidence of their learning, including a Level 4 Qualifications Scotland (formerly SQA) Core Skills award in ICT - perfect to add to a CV!
The course is delivered online, and WEA can provide support to help learners get set up if they are new to online learning. Participants will need access to the internet and a digital device, like a laptop or tablet, although a smartphone may be sufficient for many course activities. Every learner gets a year's access to their own MS 365 student account as well as 24-hour access to interactive course materials on Canvas, our virtual learning environment.
This course is fully funded by Fife Council and is free to anyone age 16+ living, working or studying in Fife.
