Help people build a more secure future

Trust in Fife is looking for Relief Housing Support Workers to join its busy homeless supported accommodation services in Kirkcaldy.

This is an opportunity to make a real difference to people aged 16 and over, supporting individuals with a range of needs as they work towards finding more permanent, stable and sustainable accommodation.

The role would suit motivated and compassionate individuals who are interested in supporting people to overcome challenges and move towards greater independence.

About the role

Relief Housing Support Workers provide support within Trust in Fife's supported accommodation units, helping residents develop the skills, confidence and stability they need to move forward.

Shifts are varied and take place between 7.30am and 8.45pm, Monday to Friday, providing cover for annual leave, training and sickness.

As a relief worker, the role offers the opportunity to become part of a supportive team while gaining valuable experience in housing and support services.

About the successful candidate

A qualification at SVQ Level 2 or equivalent in an appropriate discipline would be desirable, but it is not essential.

Trust in Fife would particularly like to hear from people who have:

  • Experience of working in a support or housing environment, or a genuine interest in this area
  • A compassionate, respectful and non-judgemental approach
  • The ability to build positive relationships with people from a range of backgrounds
  • A commitment to supporting people to achieve greater independence
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
  • A motivated and reliable approach to their work

How to apply

If you're interested in helping people move towards a more secure and sustainable future, Trust in Fife would like to hear from you.

An application pack and further information about the role are available on the Trust in Fife website
