Help Keep People Safe with Fire Risk Recognition Training

Created: 30/07/2026
News/Events Category: Governance

If you work with people in the community, you could play an important role in helping to prevent fire-related incidents.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) is encouraging staff and volunteers from partner organisations and the third sector to take part in its Fire Risk Recognition and Referral Pathway training.

The training is designed for anyone who visits clients or service users in their homes. It will help you recognise potential fire risks, understand when someone may be at greater risk, and confidently make referrals to the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service so people can access the support they need.

Training is delivered by the SFRS Community Action Team (CAT) and is available either face to face or online via Microsoft Teams, making it easy to fit around your organisation's needs.

If you'd like to arrange a session for your team or find out more, e-mail the Community Action Team at [email protected].

Alternatively, you can complete the training at your own pace through the LearnPro Community eLearning platform.
