Fife Health & Social Care Partnership is inviting third sector organisations with expertise in therapeutic and trauma-informed support for children and young people to submit a proposal to deliver a therapeutic recovery service as part of the Fife Bairns’ Hoose Pathfinder.

Bairns’ Hoose is Scotland’s approach to providing holistic, child-centred support for children and young people who have experienced abuse, violence, exploitation, or other forms of trauma. The model brings together child protection, health, justice and recovery services within a coordinated framework, reducing the need for children to repeatedly tell their story and minimising the number of agencies and settings they must engage with.

Scotland’s Bairns’ Hoose Standards set out clear expectations for rights-based, trauma-informed and co-ordinated support. Standard 9 highlights the importance of Therapeutic Recovery Services, ensuring children and young people have timely access to skilled emotional, psychological and relational support to aid their recovery.

As one of Scotland’s national pathfinder areas, Fife is helping to shape and test the implementation of the Bairns’ Hoose model ahead of wider national rollout. As part of this work, we are seeking proposals from third sector organisations with a strong track record of delivering therapeutic, trauma-informed services to children, young people and families.

Purpose of the service

The service will provide therapeutic recovery support in line with the Bairns’ Hoose approach. This includes ensuring that children and young people affected by abuse, violence, exploitation, or complex trauma can access personalised therapeutic support that helps them feel safe, heard, understood, and able to recover.

We are particularly interested in approaches that demonstrate:

  • Trauma-informed and rights-based practice
  • Experience of working with children and young people who have experienced adversity and trauma
  • Flexible and accessible service delivery models
  • Partnership working across health, social work, education, justice and third sector services
  • Evidence of positive outcomes and impact for children and families

Click here to access the service brief with further information regarding the opportunity.

The service will be provided until 31 March 2027.

A budget of £50,000 is available for this service brief.

If you are interested in providing this service or have any questions, please email [email protected] to request an application form.

The application form should be returned along with detailed cost breakdowns, based on the information contained within the service brief, to the email address, [email protected] by 12.00pm (noon) on Friday 14 August 2026.
