  • SupportED Befriending Service Open for Referrals

    Created: 02/07/2026
News/Events Category: Health and Social Care

SupportED have opened their befriending waiting list and it's now available for referrals.

Their befriending service is one-to-one support for anyone aged 18+ who is affected by an eating disorder, whether you're experiencing it yourself, or supporting a loved one.

Befriending offers you someone to talk things through with and help you work towards your goals. Your befriender can offer encouragement and accountability if that's something you'd find useful. It's a space to explore what's happening for you, develop coping mechanisms, and take positive steps.

The befriending sessions will run over a eight‑month period with a trained volunteer. Each session will last between 30 and 60 minutes. It starts with weekly sessions for the first four months, followed by fortnightly sessions for four months.

If you are interested in joining the waiting list, please complete the form on the website, and they'll be in touch for next steps - https://supportedscotland.org/befriending-service/
