To make this happen, they rely on their Tenancy Support Services Team to help customers stay in their homes when life gets difficult - from money worries to wellbeing concerns. The Tenancy Support Officer supports the Neighbourhood Team to provide a customer focused tenancy sustainment service to our customers and act as an advocate for vulnerable or at-risk customers and support those in crisis or hardship.

    The role

    As a Tenancy Support Officer, you will:

    • Respond to customer queries efficiently and effectively through a variety of communication channels.
    • Support customers in crisis, working with external agencies where required, to provide the appropriate support and assistance.
    • Triage, develop and implement the relevant support required to assist tenant wellbeing, and tenancy sustainment.
    • Help identify potential risks and maintain support routes for customers experiencing financial and wellbeing hardship.
    • Attend customer engagement events to understand customer needs and expectations and provide advice and guidance.

    About you

    They're looking for people who have:

    • HNC level qualification in a relevant discipline, or equivalent Housing Qualification, or equivalent experience
    • At least two years relevant experience
    • Previous experience in a customer-focused role
    • Strong digital skills
    • Commitment to and engagement with Continuous Professional Development
    • The ability to handle sensitive and emotive issues compassionately and professionally
    • The ability to work with challenging behaviour
    • Knowledge of data protection
    • The ability to confidently engage with a wide range of customers
    • Knowledge of relevant housing legislation
    • Knowledge of Universal Credit and other benefits
    • Knowledge of utility services, charges and procedures
    • Knowledge of financial assistance programmes and grant funding schemes
