    Organisation: Families First St Andrews
    Contract: Fixed term until 31 March 2028, with the possibility of extension thereafter, subject to funding 
    Hours: 25 hours per week (Monday to Friday) Please note that some evening work on Tuesdays and Wednesdays is a requirement of the role
    Salary: £26,417 - £27,321 per annum



    Families First has been proudly embedded in the local community since 2001. The organisation exists to improve the lives of children and young people aged 5 - 16 and their families across North East Fife by providing practical help, emotional support, and life-changing opportunities.

    Through their person-centered and trauma informed support services, they walk alongside families facing challenges and adversities and helping them thrive.

    About the role

    Families First is seeking a passionate and dedicated Youth Worker to join their team; helping to make a positive difference in the lives of children and young people.

    In this rewarding role, you will support, engage and empower children and young people through a range of activities and programmes. You will play a key role in creating a safe, nurturing and inclusive environment where they feel valued, understood and able to thrive. Working as part of a committed team, you will build strong, trusting relationships and support the children and young people to recognise their strengths and reach their full potential.

    This post is a regulated role for both children and adults and thus subject to a satisfactory Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) criminal background check.

    In addition to a rewarding role, the successful candidate will receive 

    • An annual leave allowance of 37 days pro rata, inclusive of public holidays
    • Additional long service leave, which is awarded after 7, 14 and 21 years' service
    • Pension scheme enrolment with a 5% employer contribution
    • External supervision offered to support you in your role
