  • Dementia Friendly Meeting Centre Spaces Facilitor - STAND

    Created: 08/06/2026
    News/Events Category: Job Vacancies

Post: Dementia Friendly Meeting Centre Spaces Facilitator
    Organisation: STAND
    Contract: 1 year fixed term
    Hours: 12 hours per week
Salary: £26,000 per annum, pro rata
Locations: Three weekly groups within 10 miles of Kirkcaldy

Make a real difference to people living with dementia and their families. STAND is a Fife charity led by people with lived experience of dementia. They believe that life doesn't stop with a diagnosis - people can continue to grow, connect and enjoy new experiences.

Their Dementia Friendly Meeting Centre Spaces (DFMCS) offer friendship, peer support, meaningful activity and a warm welcome to anyone living with dementia and those who support them.

They're looking for a compassionate, creative Facilitator to help run three of their weekly groups. Each group meets for two hours and offers a mix of social connection, conversation, shared learning and fun.

You'll help create a relaxed, supportive environment where people feel valued and included.

    What you'll do:

    • Welcome and support people living with dementia and their families
    • Plan and deliver enjoyable, therapeutic activities
    • Build relationships and encourage peer support
    • Work alongside volunteers and other facilitators
    • Help shape the development of their Meeting Centre Spaces

    What they're looking for

You don't need to be a dementia specialist - they value empathy, good communication, reliability and a genuine interest in people. Experience in community work, care, group facilitation or volunteering is helpful but not essential.

    What they offer

    • A supportive, lived‑experience‑led organisation
    • Training and ongoing supervision
    • Flexible planning time from home
    • The chance to make a meaningful difference every week

    How to apply

See www.standinfife.org for job details and further information on STAND.

Interviews will take place week commencing 29 June 2026.

The closing date for applications is 11.59am on Monday 22 June 2026.
