  • Scottish Recovery Network: Catalyst for Change 10-Year Plan

    Created: 13/04/2026
News/Events Category: Health and Social Care

Scottish Recovery Network's new 10-year strategic plan, Catalysts for Change sets out their vision, role, and ambitions for reshaping Scotland’s mental health system over the next decade. It outlines how, through collaboration, they can build a recovery-focused mental health system powered by lived experience and strengthened by peer support.

This represents a significant change in both thinking and practice. Achieving it will take ambition, persistence, and collective effort with lived experience leaders, allies, and system changemakers working together. While challenges are inevitable, they can be overcome to create a mental health system grounded in hope, connection, and recovery.

In their plan they outline four strategic outcomes:

    1. Lived experience and peer leaders who influence communities, organisations and systems
    2. An intentional peer support workforce that thrives across Scotland
    3. Collaboration with lived experience and peer support drives innovation and builds momentum for recovery-focused change in mental health
    4. A skilled and adaptive organisation that anticipates change
