The Open University has launched a new toolkit to support parents and carers of neurodivergent children as research reveals families feel overwhelmed and under-resourced.

Raising neurodivergent children can be wonderful, overwhelming and everything in between. Their experts have created a hands-on guide, filled with practical suggestions and ready-to-try strategies.
It’s a toolkit designed for real life and real families – developed by academics with experience of teaching and raising neurodivergent children.
- For caregivers: tips to navigate sensory needs, create structure at home and look after yourself amongst it all too.
- Knowing your rights: simple overviews of your rights as a parent and how to work effectively with schools, health services and local authorities.
- For educators: tips on creating sensory-friendly spaces, taking learning beyond the classroom and celebrating every pupil.
