This item will show under the following categories: Health and Social Care

Grants are available for groups wishing to start offering football, tennis, or cricket, those keen to expand their existing provision to new audiences, or those already delivering sport to under-represented young people. Alongside the grants, the programme will offer training and support resources to groups to help reduce inequalities in participation across these sports.

The programme’s focus is on increasing access to football, tennis, and cricket for women and girls, as well as engaging people from other under-represented groups, including racially diverse communities, people with disabilities, and people from the LGBTQ+ community.

Funding is available to help sustain and expand opportunities in these sports for women and girls, ensuring more inclusive participation. Additionally, funding is provided for coaching courses to support the development of female coaches, helping increase the number of women delivering sport to girls.

    Who can apply?

Applications are welcome from not-for-profit organisations including community groups, youth groups and traditional sports clubs who deliver football, cricket, or tennis activities for women and girls – or are applying for funding to start.

Organisations operating in areas of high deprivation. Using the Government Indices of Multiple Deprivation (IMD) to establish eligibility. Only organisations located in or supporting people from IMD areas 1-3 are eligible to apply.*

    • Applications from Disability organisations will be considered from groups outside of IMD areas 1-3. However, these groups must offer activities for women and girls.

    How to apply

Apply online via the Barclays website.

The closing date for applications is Wednesday 27 May 2026.
