    News/Events Category: Training and Learning

    When: 9.00am - 1.30pm, Tuesday 24 March 2026
Where: Carnegie Conference Centre, Fife College, City Campus, Calaiswood Crescent, Dunfermline KY11 8SJ
This event is being organised by Fife Bairns
This particular event is free to attend, so no payment is required.

It is too late to book a place for this particular session, sorry about that.

The event is open to staff involved in the safeguarding of children and young people in Fife.

Dr Suzanne Zeedyk has been invited to deliver a learning session which will question and challenge our individual professional responsibilities when supporting a child or young person who experiences a journey through Fife’s Bairns’ Hoose.

    Learning outcomes

    1. Increased understanding of the Bairns’ Hoose model and its purpose. Participants will be able to describe the core principles of Bairns’ Hoose bringing justice, care, recovery, and protection together under one child-friendly roof and explain how the model improves outcomes for children and young people who have experienced harm.
    2. Awareness of the multi-agency roles and processes involved. Participants will understand how key partners (social work, police, health, third sector, justice services) collaborate within the Bairns’ Hoose framework
    3. Ability to identify how Bairns’ Hoose impacts their own practice. Participants will reflect on their role in supporting children and families, recognise how their current processes align with the Bairns’ Hoose approach, and identify actions they can take to contribute to a consistent, child-centred pathway.

If this is relevant to you or staff in your organisation you can book a space using the following link, it’s listed as Course 18 on the CPC website: Training Schedule | Child Protection in Fife
