Join Citizens Advice Scotland for the third episode of their election insights series of foreCASt which will cover the transition to net zero.

Hosted by Emma Jackson, the session will explore the key policy areas where we need to see change. The 2026 Scottish Parliament election is happening at a critical time. People across Scotland are facing deepening and entrenched crises as thousands of households do not have enough income to live decent and dignified lives.

This episode will focus on the transition to net zero, examining the issues people across Scotland are facing around fuel poverty and energy efficiency and what's needed to enable all communities to be able to access and benefit from decarbonisation.

    Speakers

Their Director of Impact, David Hilferty, will open the session with the most up to date insight from the Citizens Advice network in Scotland, focusing on what issues are causing the most harm and the solutions that we need to see.

Molly Shevlin, the energy specialist of their Social Justice team will deep dive into the financial burden that the transition to net zero places on households on the lowest incomes and what policy makers need to include in manifestos to tackle this.

Finally, you will hear from their guest speakers, who will reflect on what they have just heard and offer insight from their own roles. You'll be joined by Laurie Macfarlane, one of the Co-Directors of Future Economy Scotland for this episode, with more guest speakers to be announced

The session will conclude with a Q&A.
