Fife International Forum is a people-led organisation with years of experience working with migrants and refugees. They have a broad understanding of cultures and experience of language support as trustees, staff, and volunteers have lived experience of migration.The transition to another country can bring a host of challenges for people. A new life in a new country can be daunting to navigate and at this session Alison Smith, Manager from Fife International Forum, will help us understand:
- The most common challenges facing newly arrived individuals and families from overseas
- How to help someone new to Scotland to find their way through the benefits system
- How language barriers can be overcome and how individuals can be supported
- How Fife International Forum’s Pre-Academy can prepare new Scots for the world of employment in Scotland
