Youth 1st: Understanding Autism (Level 2)
Created: 05/01/2026Delivered by Youth Scotland on behalf of Youth 1st.
This training is to help youth workers to understand and respect autistic people more, which in turn will build bridges and better connections with the autistic community.
Learning outcomes:
Following from Level 1, they will be exploring some of the ways that autistic people will express themselves in everyday life and in conversation with others. Some autistic terms have been more commonly used within the autistic community and can help us as youth workers to understand them more and why they express themselves in the way that they do. They will also help participants understand the ways trauma presents with autistic people and how you as youth workers can change our practice to better support autistic people in groups.
This training is free for Youth 1st members and their partners in the Uniformed Youth Work Sector. All others will be charged £15 (plus a small Eventbrite fee) per head.
Please give notice of non attendance, failure to do so may effect your booking on future training. They will also charge a £15 no show fee.
