CYCJ in collaboration with the Lucy Faithfull Foundation have created a new e-learning module on Digital Safeguarding in Practice, to provide a greater awareness of the risks present for children using digital technology.
Key elements of this e-learning module are: building digital awareness, identifying indicators of online sexual abuse and grooming, promoting safe use of digital technologies and responding to harmful online behaviour.
By the end of the course you will:
- Gain the ability to define what is harmful behaviour online.
- Understand how children can use digital technology positively and also the risk that it poses.
- Increase awareness of the prevalence and nature of online sexual abuse and exploitation.
- Identify indicators of online exploitation and grooming.
- Increase understanding in ways to support children to stay safe, prevent harm, increase resilience and promote protective factors for children and families.
- Identify ways to respond to children who have been harmed online, and children who harm others.
- Increase awareness on accessing advice and support to be able to better protect children and support parents and carers to help keep children safer online.
This fully online course can be undertaken at the flexible pace of the learner when suitable, taking approximately 4 hours.
