Money Advice Scotland is committed to raising awareness about economic abuse, with 1 in 5 women experiencing this form of coercive control by a current or former partner in the last 12 months.
They have created resources to raise awareness of economic abuse and to help guide individuals to support.
Their e-learning module for the public can be accessed here, and they have recently created a new guide about economic abuse here.
Money Advice Scotland believes it’s vital that everyone can recognise signs that could indicate economic abuse is affecting our family members, friends, colleagues, clients/service users even ourselves - and to know the support services that are there to help. Understanding the signs is the first step and knowing where to turn is the next so here’s some information to explain in more detail what economic abuse means, what are the indicators and who can provide support.
