The Scottish Parliament’s Health, Social Care and Sport Committee and Local Government, Housing and Planning Committee plan to undertake scrutiny of the Proposed National Good Food Nation Plan in September 2025.
The Proposed National Plan was laid in the Scottish Parliament by the Scottish Government on 27 June 2025 and can be accessed here: Proposed National Good Food Nation Plan.
Before finalising the Plan, the Scottish Government is required to have regard to:
- any representations about the proposed plan that are made to it,
- any resolution relating to the proposed plan passed by the Parliament, and
- any report relating to the proposed plan published by any committee of the Parliament.
Before taking oral evidence on the Proposed National Plan in September, the Health, Social Care and Sport Committee, and Local Government, Housing and Planning Committee are seeking views on its contents as they relate to their respective remits and interests.
These views will help to inform the Committees’ scrutiny.
Who can take part?
They welcome responses from a wide range of individuals and organisations, including:
- Members of the public
- Advocacy groups
- Professional bodies
- Industry experts
- Academic institutions
- Government agencies and local government
- Community organisations
- Businesses supplying food to the public sector;
- Any other stakeholders with an interest in the Good Food Nation proposed national plan
How to submit your views
Please submit your views using the online submission form.
They welcome written views in English, Gaelic, Scots or any other language.
The call for views closes on Friday 15 August 2025.
