    Come along to an informal group to learn about caring for someone with dementia. It's a chance to talk to other carers and staff working in dementia care over a cup of tea.

    The programme is run by a partnership of NHS Fife, Alzheimer Scotland, Fife Carers Centre, Striving Towards A New Day, and Fife Health and Social Care Partnership. 

    Aims of the Programme

    • Gain practical knowledge and skills
    • Learn from experienced professionals
    • Connect with other carers and share experiences
    • Get information about what services are out there and how to access them

    Who should attend?

    This programme is for people caring for family and friends living with dementia.

    How long is each session?

    Each session is two hours (including refreshments and catch up time).

    Where are the sessions held?

    The sessions are held at Alzheimer Scotland Brain Health and Dementia Resource Centre (it’s in Kirkcaldy at the bus station, behind Stance 7).

    When are the sessions held?

    The sessions are held on a Wednesday afternoon, 1.30 - 3.30pm.

    Do I have to go to all of the sessions?

    No, you can come along to whatever sessions you feel would be helpful.

    What about the person I care for?

    Unfortunately they do not have facilities for you to bring the person that you care for. If this is going to prevent you from attending, please e-mail [email protected]

    Will it be like being back in school?

    No! These sessions will be very interactive. Groups will be small to allow for lots of discussion.
