Dementia Adventure: Supported Holidays for Families Living with Dementia
Created: 23/06/2025Dementia Adventure is an award-winning national charity their vision is for everyone living with dementia to have a more active and fulfilled life.
Supported holidays
They believe that with the right support anything is possible and part of what they do is to provide supported holidays for people living with dementia and their carers, aiming to deliver holidays to as many people who need them as possible.
Research shows that connection to nature and outdoor activity has significant health and wellbeing benefits for people with dementia, and we have proven that with the right support, it is possible to access those benefits in enjoyable ways on our holidays.
They have breaks available across the UK, including super accessible accommodation in Fife - click here to find out more.
Dementia Adventure Support Fund
They also have a Dementia Adventure Support Fund which was set up for those who may need support to fund a holiday, and can be used to contribute towards the cost of the holiday itself or towards something that is creating a barrier to someone taking a holiday e.g.transport.
Information and support sessions
In addition to holidays, Dementia Adventure provide free online information and support sessions for family and friends who care for someone with dementia, and training for professionals and organisations.
Friends and family training includes 'Understanding Dementia Better' and 'Mood and Motivation'.
In addition to training for professionals, volunteers, and organisations, there is a range of case studies on their website: Dementia Training for Professionals & Organisations
