  • Alcohol Awareness Week 2025

    Created: 18/06/2025
News/Events Category: Health and Social Care

This year's Alcohol Awareness Week is all about 'Alcohol and work'.

Around 10 million people in the UK regularly drink alcohol in ways that harm our health and wellbeing. From sleepless nights and headaches to lower productivity and worsening symptoms of anxiety and depression, alcohol impacts us more ways than we realise.

Yet few of us stop to consider how our work might influence our drinking habits. Longer hours, stress, blurred lines between home and work, and workplace cultures that put alcohol, rather than people, at the centre all contribute to this complex relationship.

The aim of Alcohol Awareness Week this year is to open a conversation about the link between alcohol and work, offering practical advice on recognising the signs and making positive changes.

By cutting down on our drinking and creating healthier, more inclusive workplace cultures that put people first, we can improve our wellbeing, productivity and motivation in all sectors - from offices to frontline services.

Find out more about Alcohol Awareness Week and how you can get involved.
