The John Ellerman Foundation
Created: 09/06/2025The Foundation aims to advance the wellbeing of people, society, and the natural world by focusing on the arts, environment, and social action. Grants are made in three categories:
It will only support organisations whose work has impact across the whole of the UK. The main reason why applications are rejected is that they do not provide a sufficiently strong fit with the individual criteria of the relevant funding category.
Who can apply?
They only make grants to registered, excepted, or exempt charities. The work must have a UK national footprint and your organisation should have an income between £100,000 and £10 million.
How to apply
First complete the eligibility quiz on the Foundation's website.
There is a two-stage application process. At Stage 1 submit a brief description of your organisation and what you would like them to fund on no more than two sides of A4, plus some financial information. If you are invited to the next stage they will ask you for a full application.
