The Hugo Burge Foundation
Created: 22/05/2025The Hugo Burge Foundation have announced the first round of grant funding that will support projects, people, and organisations that align with three key areas:
Creative Education
For their inaugural round of grant funding in creative education, they are seeking applications from people, schools, and arts and culture organisations that are creating opportunities for young people (0-29) to engage and build their creative skills and knowledge.
Examples of projects might include but is not limited to organisations, artists, musicians or writers delivering workshops at primary or high schools, field trips to arts or cultural sites (including transport costs), buying or creating materials for student engagement.
The maximum award for applications in this area will be £15,000.
For projects £10,000 and under, the Hugo Burge Foundation is happy to fund the whole project. For applicants asking for more than £10,000, we ask that a minimum of 30% of the project budget is covered via alternate funding sources.
They do have limited number of multiyear grants available which will provide funding for a maximum of three years.
Creative Communities
The Creative Communities fund will go towards supporting organisations, festivals, fairs and community groups that develop and deliver initiatives focusing on culture and creative arts in their local area.
For projects under £10,000 and under, the Hugo Burge Foundation is happy to fund the whole project. For applicants asking for more than £10,000, we ask that a minimum of 30% of the project budget is covered via alternate funding sources. The maximum award is £15,000.
They do have limited number of multiyear grants available which will provide funding for a maximum of three years.
Creative Individuals
The Creative Individuals fund will be awarded to individual artists who are seeking funding to support artistic projects. We welcome applications from those working in the visual and expressive arts as well as writers and craftspeople.
The maximum award for individual artists £5,000. This can fund the entire project.
