    Hours: 20 hours per week
    Salary: £24,160 - £25,465 per annum pro rata
    Location: This post will be based at Alzheimer Scotland Brain Health and Dementia Resource Centre in Kirkcaldy, although it will involve providing outreach support across Fife

     

    Alzheimer Scotland is Scotland's national dementia charity. Their aim is to make sure nobody faces dementia alone. 

    Alzheimer Scotland provide support and information to people with dementia and their carers and families. They campaign for the rights of people with dementia and fund vital dementia research. 

    The Community Connexions Outreach Workers will: 

    • Be committed to improving the lives and opportunities of people living with dementia, their carers, partners, and families as their journey transitions from the first point of contact through to end of life. They believe nobody should face dementia alone.
    • Be a self-starter. Are you confident, innovative and collaborative? If yes, then this may be the role for you.

    Alzheimer Scotland is looking for a Community Connexions Outreach Worker for the Fife area. You will be involved in supporting people living with dementia to establish personal goals and outcomes and help them to achieve these. The Outreach service is a short-term intervention and support service offering guidance and assistance to people living with dementia and their carers to help live life to the full and as independently as possible. This may involve helping to reduce social isolation, building confidence in using public transport, engaging with the local community and much more.

    About you

    The successful candidate will have a flexible approach and the ability to deal with a number of enquiries and partnerships driven from the community and external partners. You’ll be a fantastic communicator who listens effectively to service users and provides clear, concise, and detailed advice to a varied audience. A positive leadership approach is key to ensuring the running of this service.

    Applicants must have a full and valid driving licence and vehicle to be able to travel for this role.

    You must have a recognised professional qualification in social services and healthcare to a minimum of SVQ Level 3 or equivalent, or to be prepared to achieve this while in the role.
