K107FM Commemorate World Earth Day with Tree Planting
Created: 23/04/2025K107FM recently became the 100th member of Fife Communities Climate Action Network (FCCCAN).
Both Fife Climate Hub and K107FM are based in New Volunteer House, East Fergus Place, Kirkcaldy. This milestone membership has been marked through by planting a tree in the building's grounds on Earth Day, 22 April 2025. This symbolic gesture represents the steady growth of the network’s membership – which now stands at 118 community organisations.
Andrea Habeshaw, Communications and PR Manager at Fife Climate Hub, a project of FCCAN, said "Our network continues to grow in strength, reach and diversity. Welcoming K107FM as our 100th member is a proud moment. Their deep local roots and commitment to amplifying community voices align perfectly with our mission to support grassroots climate action. We’re delighted to welcome the station into our community and celebrate our 100th member with an act that roots us further in the local landscape – literally!"
Joining the network opened up the opportunity to access a Seed and Development grant. This allowed K107FM to record and produce ‘Climate Conversations’, an exciting new series of radio pieces dedicated to showcasing the work of FCCAN members and topics relating to climate action. The conversations will be broadcast on K107FM, published on K107FM’s website and posted on their social media platforms.
