    Created: 20/04/2025
    News/Events Category: Employability
This item will show under the following categories: Carer Support   Health and Social Care

Lead Scotland offers digital skills training to adult carers (aged 16 and over) either one-to-one or in groups in Fife.

The project supports unpaid adult carers who are aged 16 and over. The support can be for up to a year as Carers Allowance does not class this as payment.

The caring role can be for a family member, friend, or neighbour and does not have to be co-habiting. This service is free, person-centred, and confidential and support can be offered one-to-one or in groups. Support can be at home, or a coffee shop or any other more private space of the carer's choice.

Support can be given on equipment already owned or an equipment loan can be offered if the carer doesn't own any equipment or would like to try something new. The project is able to provide iPads, Samsung tablets, Google Chromebooks and smart speaker on loan to learners.

LEAD Scotland support for Adult Achievement Awards

The Adult Achievement Award gives credit to adults for their learning in a variety of contexts: community, home, college, volunteering, prison, leisure interests, workplace.

These truly person-centred awards are very flexible being offered at SCQF levels 3, 4 and 6. Lead Scotland Learning Coordinators support learners (disabled people, carers, those affected by disadvantage and volunteers) to register and achieve Awards, learning in one to one, or small group, settings.  Adult Achievement Awards offer the possibility of gaining accreditation from prior informal and non-formal learning, creating a bridge to onward progression. Newbattle Abbey College verify the Awards.
