    Post: Operational Officer 
    Contract: Fixed term from 01 April 2025 until 31 March 2027
    Hours: 14 hours per week 
    Salary: £11,000 per annum + 7% employer contribution to an auto enrolment pension scheme 
    Location: New Volunteer House, Kirkcaldy (hybrid) 

     

    Fife Centre for Equalities (FCE) is a wee team with big aspirations for equality and inclusion for all communities in Fife. This is a great opportunity to embark in a two-year programme with the Fife Inclusion Networks Project (FIN) and work in engaging with people from all communities and localities across Fife. They are seeking suitable candidates who are passionate in engaging under-represented groups and connecting with local organisations as they work to improve links between Minority Ethnic people and the wider community. 

    Specific funding has been secured for the delivery of this exciting initiative and the positions are fixed term until 31 March 2027.

    The Role

    The post holder will be responsible for developing and implementing the necessary policies and practices for FCE's new Fife Inclusion Network Project. This will include building on past projects such as Fife Centre for Equalities ME60+ Project and their Get Together pilots to develop welcoming spaces for people who risk being isolated and experience loneliness due to language barriers, cultural or religious diversity, lived experience of being displaced and/or a refugee. The post holder will also support members to develop participation through the network using strengths and asset-based approaches.

    About You

    You will have experience of experience of engaging with community groups and minority ethnic communities. Being a speaker of additional languages and/or having experience of working with translation and interpretation is desirable. You’ll have either relevant qualifications or training and bring a sound practical knowledge of equality, diversity, inclusion, and human rights from a community engagement and casework perspective. You’ll have the skills to organise participants as members of the project and help develop as a mini-steering group.
