  • No Smoking Day 2025 - Services in Fife

    Created: 10/03/2025
News/Events Category: Health and Social Care

The No Smoking Day campaign aims to raise awareness to people who want to stop smoking and encourage those who may be undecided to take the opportunity to quit.

This year’s campaign aims to highlight the positive benefits quitting smoking can have for smokers (and those around them). Fife's local campaign is called ‘The best time to quit is now’.

Smoking is a leading cause of preventable death and in Fife 16.6% of adults smoke.

    Stopping smoking will:

    • Help you manage stress by improving blood pressure
    • Support your brain health by reducing your exposure to carbon monoxide
    • Improve your mood by taking control - you are greater than your nicotine addiction
    • Make it easier to be mindful by improving your sense of smell and taste
    • Help you to feel comfortable to exercise as your breathing improves
    • Reduce feelings of stress and anxiety
    • Help any medications work better in your body
