    Post: Fundraising Officer
    Hours: Part-time
    Salary: £27,027 per annum pro rata
    Location: Glenrothes, on-site

     

    The Role

    The main focus of this new role is to grow and develop supporter relationships that secure the longer-term sustainability of Glenrothes Foodbank through grants, corporate donations, and sponsorships.

    This role would be suited to someone with strong written communication skills and relationship building skills who is driven and well organised.

    Key responsibilities

    Relationship development

    • Respond positively and professionally to supporter enquiries
    • Identify and research funders
    • Build and maintain relationships with funders
    • Make applications to funders ranging from letters to small family trusts to large grants or statutory body bids.
    • Ensure funding bid and reporting deadlines are adhered to and maintain productive relationships with all funders
    • Report on performance and social outcomes
    • Actively promote and encourage fundraising activity within the community
    • Represent Glenrothes Foodbank at fundraising and networking events as required

    Fundraising Strategy

    • Work closely with the Foodbank Manager to establish fundraising targets and strategy
    • Support the development of a calendar of fundraising events
    • Lead the development of supporter communications to effectively engage with all areas of the community across all channels including digital media
    • Ensure compliance with all regulations, codes of practice and best practice in the sector
    • Positively represent Glenrothes Foodbank and its work at events, meetings and strive to increase awareness of the organisations work and need for support

    Other

    • Undertake any other duties that may be reasonably expected to fulfil the role

    Requirements

    Essential

    • Experience of working in a fundraising role
    • Experience of securing funds/contracts
    • Experience of developing and submitting successful written applications
    • Excellent written and face to face communication skills and the ability to connect with a range of different people
    • Able to support and contribute in a committed and diverse team
    • Ability to manage time effectively including working to tight deadlines
    • Computer literacy with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
    • A record of creating and maintaining relationships with funders

    Desirable

    • Experience within the charity voluntary sector
    • Understanding of GDPR and compliance re data handling
    • Understanding of the causes and factors contributing to food insecurity and food poverty, and the need for crisis and more than food responses
    • Knowledge of the funding landscape across Scotland
    • Full driving licence
