This course is for anyone working as a counsellor, therapist or mental health professional who would like to deepen their understanding of grief and loss in order to enhance their therapeutic practice.

The course will combine theoretical knowledge with practical applications and will be an interactive experience.

    After taking part, participants will:

    • Understand both historic and modern models of grief and explored applications in practice
    • Explored diversity of lived experience in death, dying, and grieving
    • Have increased skills and competences in working with grief, bereavement, and loss within an ethical framework
    • Have had the opportunity to discuss therapeutic practice with other practitioners
    • Be able to acknowledge how their own experience shapes their view of death and dying
    • Have gained a deeper awareness of how working with loss and grief impacts on themselves

    Health Warning:

As you would anticipate, the content of Cruse's courses discusses themes of death, dying, and bereavement. Before registering for training, Cruse encourage all participants to consider their individual wellbeing needs, particularly those who have recently been bereaved or consider themselves as actively grieving.

Cruse Scotland training courses are interactive and may include breaks into discussion groups. Please consider this before registering. Cruse request that all attendees have their camera functionality switched on throughout the session.
