    Craigtoun Country Park Kitchen and Café have developed a new employability course about hospitality which will be run in a purpose-built, state-of-the-art kitchen and café area.

    Flexible entry dates will lead to a variety of opportunities and qualifications.

    Courses are aimed at learners with additional support needs and delivered in a friendly, encouraging environment allowing everyone to flourish at their own pace.

    Courses wil be delivered on the following topics that service users can benefit from, leading to further learning on the course and possible employment:

    • Food hygiene
    • Health and safety in hospitality
    • Core skills – communication, numeracy, working with others, problem solving
    • CV writing

    Service users will participate in many different activities, including:

    • Making sandwiches and salads
    • Making traybakes
    • Making soups and hot food
    • Working on the pot wash and ensuring kitchen hygiene
    • Working on the counter service and processing payments on the EPOS (electric point of sale) 
    • Making and serving hot drinks
    • Working front of house serving customers

    Courses start on Tuesday 22 April 2025.
