FVA lunchtime learning sessions are aimed at raising the skills and capacities of local service providers interested in improving or enhancing their provision in Fife.

Access to Work is a Government scheme that helps people with a health condition or disability who could be struggling to retain their employment without additional support. The scheme has the scope to provide funds to cover expenses for accessibility aids that could otherwise be incurred by the individual or their employer. Access to Work can also supply individual practical support and advice to help to overcome barriers to work. This can include grants that may help with additional costs beyond “Reasonable Adjustments”.

At this session, Colin Duffus from Department for Work and Pensions will help us understand:

    • The Access to Work application process
    • What criteria and eligibility look like for Access to Work
    • A rundown of the appeals process
    • What a reasonable adjustment is
    • A brief introduction to the online Access to Work portal

NOTE:  This session will include Q+A at which our presenter will be able to answer questions around general policy, but would not be able to provide in-depth advice on specific cases, for which arrangements must be made to contact DWP separately to receive such advice.
