  • The Self Management Fund

    Created: 16/12/2024
    News/Events Category: Funding and Finance
This item will show under the following categories: Health and Social Care

This Scottish Government funded programme was set up to support development of co-produced, person-centred, self management activity across Scotland. Learning from people’s lived experience of living with long term conditions, and their unpaid carers, is at the heart of what the Fund is designed to achieve.

The 2025 round continues the previous year’s focus on early intervention and is inviting application for work that aligns with one of the following priorities:

    1. Supporting people at an early stage in their journey with a long term condition, disability or unpaid caring responsibility, to develop their ability to self manage
    2. Reducing barriers to accessing health and social care support and services, to enable self management for people living with long term conditions, disabilities and/or unpaid carers
    3. Developing the self management capacity of people living with long term conditions, and/or their unpaid carers, while they wait for a specialist health or social care intervention

    Who can apply

Constituted not-for-profit organisations, such as charities, CICs, and community groups with:

    • A minimum of three Directors/Trustees/Board Members, the majority of whom receive no payment from the organisation
    • A bank account in the name of the organisation that requires dual authorisation for transactions
    • Appropriate safeguarding policies and procedures
    • A governing document which contains: A charitable dissolution lock, charitable objectives and powers aligned with the activity proposed, and stipulations ensuring that no more than 49% of board members (including trustees/directors) can be paid for services either in their capacity as a board member or as a staff member

    How to apply
