'Warm Welcome' is Fife Council's response to the worry of rising costs, ensuring every Fifer has access to useful information and practical support from a range of services and organisations. This new movement opens up venues across Fife to encourage people to come together, enjoy activities, food or refreshments, and get warmth of all kinds.

As part of this intiative, local radio station, K107FM is set to open its Community Space within the Mercat Shopping Centre, Kirkcaldy, and offer a Warm Welcome every Friday, 9.00-4.00, starting from Friday 22 November 2024.

They will be offering the chance to find out more about the station, which this year is celebrating its 10th year of broadcasting to the Kirkcaldy area, and fresh from another award win at this years Community Radio Awards in Cardiff at the weekend.

The station's Warm Welcome extends further, with the broadcaster sharing an open invite to other Warm Welcome providers, and local organisations to come in and speak about the services they provide relating to cost of living support. These conversations can then be pre-recorded within the Community Space and then broadcast on-air to further highlight the support available throughout Fife.

K107FM will also support the Warm Welcome campaign through further on-air and social media support throughout the winter with the aim of signposting other local activities, services, support and providers.

K107FM would also be keen to hear from local organisations offering support over the festive period, and would also invite them to come into the Community Space on Friday’s to share more about their festive activities, fundraisers, and support.

K107FM’s Warm Welcome will run on Friday’s until the end of 2024, with dates and times for 2025 to be announced in the new year.
