Costs
This event is free to attend but to encourage attendance and try and ensure a good turnout to benefit all delegates, we will charge a non-attendance fee of £20.00 per delegate. By submitting a booking for this event you agree to pay this fee for those delegates who have places booked but do not attend.
Cancellations can be received up to 5 working days ahead of the event, thus avoiding non-attendance fees. A cancellation will only be valid if we have confirmed it with you. You can send somebody else in place of a booked delegate without incurring a non-attendance fee.
It is too late to book a place for this particular session, sorry about that.This course will explore the principles of background checking of all types for both staff and volunteers. The course will provide information on:
- General information on PVG and disclosure checking
- The different types of disclosure check available (e.g. Basic, Standard, Enhanced and PVG Scheme) and which roles require which type of check
- A brief look at how to go about processing checks (this is covered in more detail in the PVG signatory course)
- Safe recruitment: risk assessment and other good practice measures
