It is too late to book a place for this particular session, sorry about that.

Greener Kirkcaldy's Annual Gathering is a celebration of community ownership.

This year Greener Kirkcaldy celebrates five years of owning their community building at 8 East Fergus Place. There are plenty of opportunities to discuss new ideas for the future of the town.

They also look forward to welcoming guest speakers Alastair McIntosh and Mark White, and they will take the opportunity to celebrate their amazing volunteers who bring a true sense of community to their building and Greener Kirkcaldy as a whole.

At the gathering, they want to look to the future for Kirkcaldy and inspire new ideas in the community.

    Speakers

Greener Kirkcaldy is excited to welcome two guest speakers to this year's gathering.

Alastair McIntosh (writer, academic and activist) - Alastair is best known for his work on community empowerment, human ecology and poverty of body and soul. His books include Soil and Soul on land reform, Poacher's Pilgrimage on spirituality and Riders on the Storm on climate change. Raised on the Isle of Lewis, he has lived in Govan for the past 20 years. He is a founding Trustee of the GalGael Trust and an honorary professor in the School of Education at the University of Glasgow.

Mark White (from the Leslie Town Hall Project) - Mark has been a member of Leslie Amateur Drama Club since moving to Scotland in the early 2000s. He is the main driving force behind the Leslie Town Hall Project in Leslie, near Glenrothes. Mark relishes the challenge of refurbishing the Town Hall and making it a welcoming arts and community centre at the heart of the local community.

The event will begin with their AGM. Greener Kirkcaldy will share the agenda and papers on our website and in their building soon. Only members can vote in the AGM. If you're not a member already, please consider joining them before then!
