    Created: 07/10/2024
    News/Events Category: Job Vacancies

    Post: Cook
    Contract: Self-employed
Hours:  5.5 hours per week (2.00-7.30 on a Saturday)
    Salary: £20.00 per hour
    Location: Salvation Army Hall, Burntisland

Community Suppers Burntisland is recruiting a part-time cook for their Saturday evening meals during the winter. Community Suppers encourage everyone in Burntisland to join in and dine in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere, on a pay-what-you-can model. Community Suppers Burntisland is a subgroup of Burntisland Community Development Trust.

Last winter, they regularly had up to 40 diners from 5.00 to 6.30pm each Saturday. They have a strong team of volunteers, but have decided to employ a cook to ensure availability of this specialist role.

The postholder will handle the hygiene and safety regulations associated with providing meals, identify which ingredients are needed and how much, take part in and coordinate the food preparation, start-up and close-down activities. They will need to work flexibly with volunteers who are responsible for their own roles.
