The Royal National Insititute for Blind People provides support for both jobseekers and employers to help those experiencing the onset of sight loss, and those with long term sight loss, to approach the labour market or to retain their jobs.
For those over 50 who are experiencing long-term degeneration in vision, approximately 1 in 2 will leave their jobs rather than seek easily accessible advice and support to remain in work.
RNIB offers a range of support including:
- A pre-employment team to support jobseekers
- A job retention service for those in work
- Support to make the workplace more accessible for employees
- Advice and support for employment professionals
