Examples of grants include:
- Financial assistance with transport
- Financial assistance with furniture and home repairs
- Purchase of computers and equipment
- Grants for well-being and care
- Personal expenses
Fund award sizes
Minimum: £500
Maximum: £2,000
Annually awarded: £80,000
Notes on award amounts: There were no awards made to organisations in 2022 or 2023. They awarded 16 grants to individuals.
Who can apply
Amateur or professional scientists over the age of 50. There is a preference for individuals living in Scotland, or with a clear Scottish connection, but people from elsewhere in the UK are also eligible. Organisations whose purposes align with those of the Murdoch Trust may also apply.
